Working on improving healthcare globally with new cool functionalities and thrilling new products? The Forcare development team is scaling up! Always wanted to work on new technology in a Benefit (profit & positive impact on society) Company?

Keywords: Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Java 8, Spring Boot, TDD, Microservices, GIT, Vue, Ansible

Who are you? 🙂
As a junior, medior or senior Software Engineer you have professional Java development experience in a sizeable codebase for at least 2 years.

In general, you have proven problem solving skills (hbo/wo/University level), preferably in a Unix/Linux network intensive (DevOps) environment. Plus you can express yourself effortless in a language like Java 8, English (preferably in Dutch too). You like Test Driven Development (TDD) and a structured, careful way of working, which Forcare thinks is essential for the medical domain. You like to play a pro-active part in the progression of yourself and the development department.

What you will do
In one of the Agile development teams in Zeist (it is a big plus if you live nearby), you develop new (cloud-based) functionality to make the exchange of healthcare information effortless for medical doctors and their supportive staff. Together with Philips teams in Haifa (Israel) and Pleasanton (California) there will be the opportunity to work on a next generation viewer and an universal data manager.

You make sure new functionality can be deployed and easily troubleshooted and maintained. If you are a senior developer, you will also coach other software developers and advise the CTO and other staff on process improvements and new technology choices.

What Forcare offers
What Forcare offers ,besides the usual package, is an open workspace full of smart and pragmatic people with a straightforward communication style. The environment is small enough for you to be recognized for your achievements, yet Forcare/Philips is big enough to offer opportunities inside and outside the Netherlands. We look honestly at ourselves and try to learn from our mistakes. There is good coffee, regular chocolate and a communal lunch where the CEO can sit next to an IT support intern. Besides working passionately to improve healthcare, we also allow ourselves to relax with activities that vary from cultural outings and coding challenges to indulging ourselves in (sometimes geeky) humor.

About Forcare
Forcare’s main message is “Empower your flow”. This message is directed at healthcare professionals and institutions alike. They do this through standards (IHE/HL7/DICOM) based exchange of medical information, like medical images, reports and other content. Content is unlocked from hospital silos to enable effortless sharing with users and institutions outside the hospital walls. We deliver our solutions on-premise and in the (AWS) cloud.

With offices in Zeist, The Netherlands (HQ, 60 people) and Toronto, Canada, Forcare is active in Europe, the Middle-East, Canada and the USA. Recently acquired by Philips, Forcare’s ambition is to grow at an accelerated pace in the coming years and seize the global increase in demand for interoperability and standardization in digital health care.
