In the DevOps team you will support our services and support teams by developing pipelines to deliver functionality to our customers effectively. You make sure new deployments go smoothly and existing services are always up. This means you will also write unit tests (like RSpec, Serverspec) and integration tests (currently in Java) to have a safety net. Additionally, you will also need to coach software developers (SCRUM teams) how to implement features that just “work in the cloud”.
Forcare runs their cloud services on Intermax for the Dutch market and AWS for the US and Canada region. The tools they use include Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Java and Gradle to do deployments, but feel free to promote your own preferences.
Requirements
We are one of the many companies transitioning to the cloud: expect some turbulence on the way. Thus, we are looking for someone with drive, discipline and resilience, rather than a candidate ticking all the toolchain or knowledge checkboxes.
That being said – you have proven problem solving skills (hbo/wo/university level), preferably in a Unix/Linux network intensive (DevOps) environment. Plus you can express yourself effortlessly in a language like Java, English (preferably in Dutch too) and visually in drawings – so you can easily explain what you did in a stand-up or share your architecture decision with a co-worker. You like test driven development and a structured, careful way of working, which we think is essential for the medical domain.
